No es pot dir mai d'aquesta aigua no en beuré!

No es pot dir mai aquesta peça no me la cosiré!

Jo que em pensava  que mai no em faria una dessuadora, perquè no en porto els dies de cada dia...

Jo que em creia que mai no em cosiria res de la revista Ottobre, perquè me l'havia mirada al quiosc i no em feia el pes...

Però vaig anar al Sewing Camp, i  vaig conèixer un munt de costureres blogueres. He anat seguint els seus blogs des de llavors, i moltes s'han fet la dessuadora Handy Pocket, de la revista Ottobre núm. 5 de 2017

I a sobre, resulta que aquesta revista anava dins del meu paquet de benvinguda del Sewing Camp.

You can never say never, neither in life nor in sewing!

I thought that I would never make a sweatshirt, because I never wear them on weekdays...
I thought that I would never sew any garment from the Ottobre magazine, because I had browsed through it  and it did not look any attractive to me...

But  in the fall I went to the Sewing Camp, and I met a lot of blogging seamstresses. I've been following their blogs ever since, and many have sewn the Handy Pocket sweatshirt, from the  Ottobre magazine  5 / 2017.

And well, it turns out that this magazine was part of my welcome packet at the the Sewing Camp.

És una costura molt bàsica, de cap de setmana. I per fer-ho més fàcil, en el blog de la Sara  hi trobareu un tutorial, aquí.

L'únic detall són  les butxaques. A mi també m'han quedat massa amunt. Mira que ho havia llegit en altres blogs!  La vaig escurçar uns 3 cms entre les butxaques i la cisa, i suposo que els 3 cms els hauria d'haver repartit per sobre i per sota de les butxaques.

M'ha quedat més justeta que no em pensava, però ja va bé.

The only detail is the pockets. They are too high in my opinion, I should have known better because I had read about this in some reviews.   I shortened it about 3 cms between the pockets and the armscyes, now I think it should have been 1,5 cms above the pockets and 1,5 cms under them.


It is a bit smaller than I planned, but it is fine.

La roba és dessuadora empelfada, primeta.  Les butxaques estan folrades amb punt roma,  i també n'he posat una tira al coll perquè quedés ben acabat.  He trobat al youtube aquest tutorial per fer-ho. 

Em tornaré a cosir una  Handy Pocket? Suposo que sí. Amb una altra mena de roba fins i tot la podria dur per anar a la feina.

Em faré alguna altra peça de la mateixa revista?   Potser els texans... el dia que m'acabi de decidir a fer-me'n uns.  

The fabric is thin sweatshirt.  The pockets are lined with  double knit, which I also used to finish the front neckline. 
Will I sew a Handy Pocket again? I guess so. With another kind of fabric I could even wear it to work.

Will I sew another pattern from the same magazine? Maybe the jeans ... when I make up my mind about sewing a pair of jeans...

Em compraré algun cop la Ottobre?   No ho crec. Comparant per exemple l'última Burda i aquesta  Ottobre, Burda em dóna molts més patrons, i més variats, no tan bàsics.  

Les instruccions són si fa no fa en Burda i Ottobre, i en totes dues els patrons són sense marge de costura. Però en cada número Burda ofereix el " patró rosa", que es pot tallar directament, no cal calcar-lo,  i té instruccions amb gràfics.

Will I buy the Ottobre magazine? I do not think so. If I compare for instance the last Burda issue with this Ottobre, Burda offers many more patterns, and they are both basic and more ambitious. 

Both magazines have similar instructions and the patterns have no seam allowances. But in each issue, Burda offers the "pink pattern", which can be cut directly, it is not necessary to trace  it, and it has instructions with graphics.

Per mi no hi ha color, si em vull gastar 10 euros enrevistes de patrons, em compraré 2 Burda i no 1 Ottobre.

Però és clar, no es pot dir mai d'aquesta aigua no en beuré...

I vosaltres, us compreu el Burda, l'Ottobre, o totes dues?

For me this is a no-brainer, if I want to spend 10 euros in pattern magazines, I will buy two Burda instead of one Ottobre.

But of course, you can never say never..

SUPERPOSICIÓ / OVERLAY

Bona tarda,

avui us presento l'última peça que em vaig fer l'any 2017.

A vegades, quan tinc ganes de cosir però estic massa cansada - cosa que em passa sovint als vespres - m'entretinc fullejant la meva col.lecció de revistes de patrons. En tinc una bona colla, potser arribo a les 50.

I així vaig retrobar el patró de vestit 105 del Burda de març 2016. D'aquells patrons que quan vaig comprar la revista ja vaig pensar que em faria però...

Today I show you the last garment that I sewed in 2017.

Sometimes, when I feel like sewing but I'm too tired - which happens often to me in the evenings - I start to  browse through my stash of pattern magazines. I have quite a few, around 50 I guess.

And so I found again the dress pattern number 105 from Burda March 2016. One of those patterns that when I bought the magazine I  thought that I would sew soon but...

Val més tard que mai!

Better late than never!

És un vestit de punt sense mànigues, amb un sobrevestit que és una samarreta de màniga llarga. Tots dos vestits van units pel coll i per les cises.

Vaig utilitzar punt amb contingut de licra, i la faldilla no s'enganxa a les mitges! 

Els repunts rectes de la màquina de cosir els vaig haver de fer amb premsarobes de doble arrastre "walking foot". Vaig estabilitzar amb fliselina les costures de les espatlles i l'escot.

Estic molt satisfeta d'aquest vestit: és fàcil i ràpid de cosir, còmode de portar, i és ample però no és "sac de patates". Té detalls com el plec a l'esquena,  els plecs petits en el davant de la faldilla, la vora en corba del sobrevestit... 

Els únics canvis que vaig fer van ser escurçar el vestit fins a sobre els genolls i fer el cos interior amb la mateixa roba i no en roba de folre com indicava Burda.

It is a sleeveless knit dress, with an over-dress that is a long-sleeved shirt. Both layers are stitched together at the neckline and the armscyes.

I used double knit  with lycra content, and the skirt does not cling to my tights! 

On the other hand,   the straight stitches were sewn in the sewing machine using a walking foot" . I stabilized the neckline and shoulders seams with interfacing.

I am very satisfied with this dress: it is easy and fast to sew, comfortable to wear, and is wide but not shapeless. It has details like the pleat in the back, the small pleats in the front of the skirt, the low-high hem of the overdress..

The only changes I made were to shorten the dress up to my knees and sew the inner bodice in fashion fabric and not in lining as indicated by Burda.

POP TOP

Bon Any Nou a tothom!  
Hi ha projectes que comencen amb el patró, d'altres amb la roba. La història d'aquest top comença amb  aquest retall. 
Us agrada?  Com en diríeu d'aquesta mena d'estampat?  Pop, mod, psicodèlic?
No tinc clar a quina de les tres corrents estètiques pertany, però al final l'he batejat com la roba POP.

Some projects start with the pattern, others with the fabric. The story of this top starts with this remnant.
Do you like this fabric?  What would you call this kind of print? Pop, mod, psychodelic?
I definitely don't know which of the three aesthetic categories it falls into, but in the end I've decided to call this the POP fabric.

Ja us vaig explicar que el cap de setmana del Sewing Camp vam fer intercanvi de teixits. Aquesta roba de cotó una mica rígid em va fer gràcia des del primer moment i li vaig demanar a l'Helena de maquinando patrones si podíem intercanviar-la. I va dir que sí. Moltes gràcies, Helena!

As I told you, during the Sewing Camp we had an exchange of fabrics.

I did like this stiff cotton poplin from the beginning , so I asked Helena from maquinando patrones if we could make a swap with it. And she said yes.

De seguida vaig visualitzar-hi un top, que havia de ser màniga llarga, tot i que tenia poca roba, només 1,10 m.  Sort que vaig trobar el patró ideal, el núm. 112 de Burda d'agost de 2017.

I wanted to sew a long sleeved top with it, although I only had 1,10 m. of fabric. Good luck I found the perfect match, pattern number 112 from Burda august 2017

No té cremallera ni botons, ni tan sols pinces de pit. Les mànigues són caigudes i per això no es gasta tanta roba. Súper fàcil de cosir.   

Per calcar el patró vaig fer servir per primera vegada plàstic en lloc de paper, vaig calcar-lo en un moment. Però el plàstic que vaig comprar és una mica prim, i es movia quan hi afegia els marges de costura. La propera vegada ho provaré amb plàstic de més bona qualitat.

It has neither zipper nor bust darts. Having dropped shoulders and a sleeve with short cap height, it uses little fabric. A very easy garment to sew.

To trace the pattern I used for the first time clear plastic instead of paper, it was so fast to trace! Anyway, the plastic I used was not thick enough, making it troublesome to add the seam allowances. Next time I will buy better quality clear plastic.

El top ha quedat una mica curt, potser hauria d'haver escurçat  les mànigues i allargat el cos...    Tant li fa,  serà un top perfecte per sortir a prendre quelcom, o per anar a ballar a un concert de rock (ja en tinc un en perspectiva per aquest anya!)

The top turned out a bit too short, maybe I should have shortened the sleevesand lengthened the bodice instead...  No problem, it will be a perfect garment for informal outings , and I will for sure wear it at a rock concert for which I have already bought tickets.
